The best way to think about CSS Margin and Padding is to think of Margins are like arms outside of something. The margins push outward from the box of the object. Padding is inside of the box.
When I think of Padding, I think of a pool table. I think of the padding that controls where the pools balls can go. I the padding is thicker, there is less room from the outside edge of the table for the balls to roll around.
Another way I think of Padding, and I think this is very important, is that, “If you giveth, you must taketh away.” This is something to nail down in your head when it comes to CSS Margin and Padding.
CSS margin and padding are two extremely important concepts to learn and control in the land of CSS so please enjoy and master, “Using CSS Margin and Padding.”
